We’ve had a pretty wet and humid summer here in Tennessee. I’ve had more than one friend struggle with mold growing on their cabinets. So, we decided to build a cabinet door drying rack to help with that issue. It’s very easy to build and you can get all of the materials at your local home improvement store.

– 1″ x 6″ x 96″ Pine Board

– 1″ x 4″ x 96″ Pine Board

– 2″ x 2″ x 96″ Pine Board

– 3/8″ x 3/8″ x 96″ Plywood

– 2 Sets of Cabinet Door Hangers

The Cabinet Door Drying Rack

The first thing we did was cut the 1″ x 6″ x 96″ pine board to 80 inches long. Then we cut the 1″ x 4″ x 96″ pine board to 73 inches long. We used the remaining pieces to make the base of the drying rack. We cut the 2″ x 2″ x 96″ pine board into four, 32-inch pieces. We attached two of those pieces to each end of the 1″ x 4″ x 96″ pine board. Then we attached the other two pieces to each end of the 1″ x 6″ x 96″ pine board. We attached everything with 2″ cabinet screws.

Next, we cut the 3/8″ x 3/8″ x 96″ plywood into four, 23-inch pieces. We attached two of those pieces to the top of the 1″ x 6″ x 80″ pine board, leaving a 16-inch space in between the two pieces.
